The Des Radford 100 miler

The Des Radford 100 miler is an annual club ride on the nearest Sunday to the longest day. It starts and ends in Swansea Marina at the Sail Bridge adjacent to Sainsbury's, it takes a route involving some cycle paths alongside the river Tawe to Pontardawe and then follows the road to Bynamman, up and over the Black Mountain and down to Llangadog. We then continue onward and upward through Talley, to the A482 and then back through Llansawel to Abergorlech for lunch. After lunch we continue onward through Brechfa, Horeb and Nantgaredig toward the next coffee stop at the Botanical Gardens. After coffee the ride goes across country to the coast at Ferryside and then follows the coastal roads back to Swansea via Gowerton. This "lumpy" ride has approx 5,500 feet of climbing.

The Sail Bridge is crossing the river Tawe at the side of the Sainsbury's Supermarket
