Cardiff World Naked Bike Ride

Cardiff World Naked Bike Ride

Bike Week

When? June 8th 2019

Why? The Naked Bike Ride is a great celebration of bikes and bodies aiming to highlight the vulnerability of cyclists on busy roads and demand better provision for cycling in cities. The primary message to motorists being ‘see us when we are not naked’! The other message of the ride is to highlight the over reliance on fossil fuels and global warming.

Where? Meet at Cardiff University, on the University Lawns on Museum Avenue (Opposite Alexandra Gardens) from 12.30pm for bike and body decoration; together we'll decorate and ourselves and our bikes before departure at 2.30pm, Saturday 8 June 2019.

The ride is about 8.5 miles through Cardiff city centre and Pontcanna Fields. We go slowly and will have some short rest stops. We hope to have a carnival atmosphere with music, smiles, laughter and hopefully some sunshine. African drummers will be there during the build up to provide a great vibe and encouragement!

Naked? Full nudity is NOT obligatory but does make a great statement. The dress code is "as bare as you dare", so if that means coming dressed as a pantomime horse, please do! Pantomime outfits, body painted skin, mankinis, monokinis, bikinis, gorilla suits and of course... birthday suits... all welcome.
