Belles Big Ride - Runner up

The Belles Big Ride - a Women's Festival of Cycling event - was shortlisted in the Best Cycling Event category for Cycling UK's 2018 Volunteer of the Year Awards.

Julie Cunningham of the Belles was also nominated last year – this year she’d bringing some friends! Morag Prach, Susanne Mueller, Emma Thomas and of course Julie put together this 40 mile ride for the Women’s Festival of Cycling.

50 women of different ages and capabilities took part in the picturesque ride, looping through the Forth Valley,

Belles on Bikes itself is a network of women’s cycling clubs from all over Scotland, set up and supported by Cycling UK. They are all entirely volunteer run.

Cycling UK's Volunteer of the Year Awards are given annually to recognise and celebrate all the incredible work volunteers do in encouraging others to start cycling and keep cycling.
